Privacy policy
tvknob.com · upRiver Network · last updated 8 October 2026
This policy covers tvknob.com: watching channels, Network Studio accounts, and the pages on this site. The TVK app for Roku has its own policy at tvknob.com/roku/privacy, which says what the TV sends.
Watching without an account
Public channels play without an account. We don't ask you to sign in to watch.
- On your device this browser remembers the last channel and volume, whether the set should start playing on its own, and your latency choice. That stays in the browser. We don't receive it. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes it.
- When the page loads our servers and our network provider (Cloudflare) see your IP address, the same as any website. We use it to run the service and to slow down abuse, such as repeated sign-in attempts. We don't keep a profile of anonymous viewers.
- Streams and embedded players (for example YouTube or Twitch) are often served by the channel or by another site. That server sees your IP address while you watch, under its own policy.
- On-demand plays are counted as a total for the show, not tied to you.
- Ads, when the site shows them, are counted as daily totals: how many times an ad was seen or clicked, and on which placement and channel. Those counts are not tied to you. Following an ad takes you to the advertiser's site.
Accounts
Creating an account is optional. If you do, we keep:
- your name, email address and username;
- a hash of your password (we never store the password itself);
- whether your email is confirmed, when you last signed in, and a count of recent failed sign-ins used to slow down guessing;
- a profile photo, if you add one;
- the channels you belong to, and what you publish on a channel: its name, description, shows, posts, and any contact details or links you choose to show publicly;
- friend connections between channels, which the other channel can see.
Sign-in attempts and account changes are logged with an IP address so we can investigate abuse.
Sessions
When you sign in we set an httpOnly cookie holding a random token. We store a hash of that token, plus the IP address and browser of that session, so you can see your sessions and sign one out under Network Studio › Account. A session lasts up to 30 days and ends after 7 days without use. Signing out deletes it. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
We email you to confirm your address, to reset a password, to invite you to a channel, and if someone tries to create an account with an address you already use. We don't send marketing mail.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't share your account with anyone, except the services that run our servers, network and email for us.
Roku
Linking a TV is optional and is covered in the Roku privacy policy. The TV holds a random token, never your password.
Children
The site is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Deleting your information
Sign out of a session under Network Studio › Account. To delete your account and the information kept for it, contact us. A public channel you published stays up until that channel is removed.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we'll update this page and the date above. Questions or requests: the contact address on our support page.
